Hari itu ketika siang hari di salah satu resto cepat saji sedang membuka email, "Thank you once again for volunteering to be part of AFCSR 2013. Please refer to the details below on the conference. Below
is the schedule when we will need to meet with you. All of these
activities will be done at the Badung Room, Grand Hyatt - Nusa Dua.
Please confirm if you will
attend for all dates."
Who knows! Was participated in APEC-SDMOF as a Liaison Officer, then next to the other international event, Asian Forum of Corporate Social Responsibility (AFCSR) as a Student Assistant (SA). Oh what is that?
The AFCSR is recognized as the largest and most significant conference in CSR in Asia. What is CSR? CSR is the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically and contribute
to economic development while improving the quality of life of the
workforce and their families as well as of the local community and
society at large (Lord Holme and Richard Watts).
Still confuse right? CSR is the way of the large companies to share a
positive impact to the comunities or nation where the companies built
it's factories and business. Beswan Djarum is one of the example. Now
the AFCSR on its 12th held by AIM (Asian Institute of Management).
First day, Great!, i
met the others student assitant, they were from Udayana University and
STP. I has met Yudith, Ridho, Aisyah, Via, Feny, Gek Tya, Yolanda, Fita,
Dipa, Ismil and Sangtu. And also the organizer, their face just like
Indonesian, but of course not, they were Filipino! They were Dayen, Danee,
Gina, Hannah, Mandee, Khristine, and Paulo. We were trained about the
event and how to give the best service for the delegates. And guess, the
next day we would have an exam and.. there is a prize for who has the
highest score, US $50!
Next
day, exam time! Bad luck, i've just got a moderate score, and congrats
to Via, the highest score. I was selected to be a breakout session
assistant with Via, Dipa, Fita and Ridho, and Danee is our "mom". Day by
day, we were doing preparation, such as bag stuffling and set up. Fiuh
was a tiring day!
Conference
day! At opening ceremony, there were a lot of delegates joining the AFCSR,
we did ushering them to regristation booth, welcoming them, and many
more. I met a lot of success and great poeple here, some of them was a
senior manager and profesor, Wew!
We,
the breakout session team, was separated into 4 rooms and i was in the
Karangasem I room, Lippo Room. We did 5 breakout session for each rooms in whole event,
3 in first day and 2 in the next day. The first breakout session was a
little bit rushed, uh! First time, not bad. The second one was a great
breakout session, i met Mr. Michael Cabalda and Ms. Nicky, his assitant,
the speakers from Holcim Filipine. They are very kind people and their
presentation was the best i think. Ms. Nicky has teached me some of Pinoy
languages, interesting!
The
last breakout session in first day i helped Prof. Nieves and Mr. Alex
Mavro in their presentation. Prof. Nieves is a very kind woman too and
always laugh and happy, she is Executive Director of AIM Energy Team.
Their CSR was banana plantation in hectares land, great!
Last
schedule in first day, we did Welcoming Cocktail Party, awesome, those was my first time. I tried all the wines just like i hadn't drink for a
whole day, cheers!
